Getting Around in Las Vegas:

1. Take paralell side streets rather than driving on the strip to avoid bumber to bumber traffic.

2. Parking on the strip is free, so take that into consideration when thinking about renting a car.

3. Make all of your dinner, show, and other reservations at your hotel concierge desk. They offer the same services (and prices) as if you went to the hotel where you want to have dinner or see a show, but by going to your concierge you save time because you only have to wait in line once and don’t have to walk all over the strip.

What to Do / Activities in Las Vegas:

Rush tickets in Las Vegas are available for most of the shows. Hotels hold tickets for VIPS, but then sell them at the last minute if they are unused. So, you pay the same price for the tickets, but you get better seats. Ask the hotel about their specific policy for rush tickets. Remember, there is no guarantee you will get tickets, but if you do the seats will be fantastic.

Lodging in Las Vegas:

While you may consider staying off the strip because it is less expensive, take into consideration the cost of taxing taxis to and from the strips. This may add significantly to the cost of staying off the strip such that you end up paying the same amount as if you had stayed on the strip. Also, some hotels off the strip have a bus to the strip, but check the hours of operation - it may not be all the time.

When making hotel reservations ask for dates for the lowest rates. If you book your reservation way in advance you get a lower rate. They raise the rates higher when they have less rooms available. Check your options re: cancelling, you usually have 24 hours. The rooms are much higher on Fri,Sat nights. At times you have to stay on Fri night in order to get reservations for Sat.

Dining in Las Vegas:

In Las Vegas If you go to a buffet near the end of the lunch time and stay for a while, you will get to eat from the lunch and dinner menus.
