You Must Know from Jaco:

1. Although Jaco is highly recommended beach, it’s dirty and has a sleazy feel to it. I'd recommend driving a half hour further west to Manuel Antonio. Waves are not that big, but the beach is peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by luscious jungle. And, you’re likely to run into a few monkeys during your short walk to the beach.

2. If you are going to be traveling around the country, bring medicine for motion sickness because the roads are very bumpy and windy.

Getting Around in Jaco:

The roads and signs do not make sense. You are better off hiring a driver if you don’t want to spend your entire vacation lost.

Weather in Jaco:

I went to Costa Rica in December and traveled to different areas. The weather changed often, so sometimes it was hot and sometimes it was cool. Really check into the weather because you may want to pack layers.
