Dining:
At night, Malioboro will turn into a food heaven. It will be a Nice place to enjoy the local food. We call it as "Lesehan". Lesehan serve 'Pecel Lele', Fried 'burung Dara', 'Gudeg', and many more. 'Street' musicians will entertain you with oldies songs. But, you must careful when you eat, sometimes they will ask you to pay more expensive for the foods, so you have to look for the places that show their food price.

If you want to buy some traditional snacks (Bakpia, Geplak, Salak, etc) , don't buy it at the market (Beringharjo Market or Malioboro), but buy it in its centre. For example, 'Bakpia' you can buy on KS Tubun Street. There will be lots of "Bakpia" shops that sell the fresh "Bakpia.” If you buy it in Beringharjo, sometimes it's not fresh and easy to be rotten and can't be eaten.
Or ask your guide to accompany you to the center of the foods you want to buy...the guides usually have some relations for this. Buy as cheap as you want, don't hesitate to bargain.

Shopping:
There are so many great place in Yogyakarta or Jogja. The most famous place to buy souvenirs is in Malioboro street. People say 'it's not complete if you don't visit Malioboro if you travel in Jogja. On the east side there're shopping centre and mall but on the west side, there's a heaven of souvenirs. Silver, Frame, bags, 'batik', sandals, hat, tattoo maker, jewelry from natural material, and paints are available. The most important to get the low price is you must bargain all the things that you want to buy. I suggest you to bargain till 60% or 50% from their offer.
