What to Do / Activities in Bali:
When it comes to visiting Bali, stay away from the commercialized area of Kuta, there's absolutely nothing worth visiting there. Instead, concentrate on visiting the charming city of Ubud. If you're there for more than 3 or 4 days, it may be a good idea to split up your accommodation part in Ubud and part further south in a place like Nusa Dua.

Getting Around in Bali:
It makes all the sense in the world to rent a driver while in Bali. The cost per day is about $20 to $30 and covers unlimited travel around the island. The drivers are super friendly and will wait for you while you hop out and explore the various parts of the island including the volcano.

Money in Bali:
Bali is a mostly cash-driven society. Many hotels and restaurants accept credit card, but it's always a good idea to carry some cash. When converting currency from U.S. dollars, make sure you bring new notes over. We had a really tough time trying to cash any U.S. currency that was older than 2001 apparently there's a lot of counterfeit currency floating around. So, grab new notes before heading over.
