Getting Around in Cochin:

1. If you cannot secure a train booking to your desired destination (i.e. because it is full) book the same train to a destination one station further. Typically you would only have to pay and addition Rs. 50/ - 100/ for the ticket. It will then allow you to a light at the station of your desire i.e. the station before where your train journey is supposed to end. If you're thinking this doesn't make sense, you are right, but apparently it works.

2. Instead of booking a taxi service around Kerala in advance, book a Government taxi once you arrive at Cochin Airport at the Government taxi booth (near the arrivals exit). It is cheaper.
